Start with the official fixed charges
Do not add an invented flat total. Course tuition, fingerprint location and the first license term can change the final amount. Use the official fee pages and obtain a current provider quote.
| Item | Published amount | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Combined L/A&H examination | $40 | Paid for each scheduled attempt |
| Resident agent license | $40 per year or fraction | An initial license may cover up to two years |
| Approved education | Provider price | At least 40 combined hours for most resident applicants |
| Fingerprints | Vendor quote | Confirm the current charge when scheduling |
A failed attempt has a direct cost
The next exam attempt requires another examination fee. PSI does not permit a new appointment on the same day as a failed test; a candidate can schedule the next day and may test as soon as the following day if space is available.
That is not a fixed 24-hour waiting period, and availability can extend the delay. The failed score report includes a diagnostic breakdown, which should drive the next study cycle.
Budget for preparation, not repeated guessing
- Choose an approved prelicensing provider and verify its current tuition.
- Reserve exam and fingerprint costs separately.
- Allow time to repair weak domains before scheduling.
- Treat potential income as an individual business scenario, not as a published licensing cost.
Where CertiAcademy creates value
The program does not replace New York's approved prelicensing course. It adds a bilingual diagnostic, more than 1,300 learning questions with 500 New York-specific items, full explanations, spaced error review and realistic simulations.
Exam Ready costs $69 for six months. The $99 12-month package adds Pass Protection under the conditions displayed before purchase. Both packages are one-time purchases with no automatic renewal.
