Official format for the Florida 2-15 examination
Pearson VUE lists separate English and Spanish exam codes for the same 2-15 license type. Both use the same question count and time limit. That supports an equivalent format and content blueprint; it does not prove that every English item is translated one-for-one or that candidates receive identical question forms.
| Official item | Florida 2-15 |
|---|---|
| Scored questions | 150 |
| Unscored pretest questions | 15 |
| Total delivered | 165 |
| Time limit | 2 hours 45 minutes |
| Exam options | English and Spanish |
| Exam fee | $44 per attempt |
| Passing score in the linked handbook | 70% |
| Attempt limit | 5 of the same exam type in a rolling 12 months |
How to select the Spanish exam option
Follow the current Florida DFS application and approval sequence first. Once authorized to test, choose the Spanish 2-15 exam code when scheduling through Pearson VUE. Check the language before confirming the appointment; changing it later may require cancellation and rescheduling under Pearson VUE's current rules.
Florida's official outline is the controlling topic checklist. The Spanish exam option does not reduce the tested scope, the time limit or the passing score.
2025 results by self-reported native language
Florida's annual report records native language voluntarily reported by examinees. It does not show which exam language each person selected. The non-pass percentages below are calculated as the complement of the report's published pass rates.
| Self-reported native language | Pass rate | Calculated non-pass rate |
|---|---|---|
| English | 49% | about 51% |
| Spanish | 42% | about 58% |
Prerequisite education on the standard route
The standard course-and-exam route requires a Florida-approved 60-hour Health & Life course. DFS also lists alternative qualifications and exemptions, so candidates should verify the route that applies to them before paying a provider.
Exam preparation and prelicensing are not the same service. CertiAcademy prepares candidates for the examination; it does not represent itself as the required Florida prelicensing provider.
What a complete Spanish learning path should provide
The official group results justify checking whether preparation is equally usable in both languages. They do not, by themselves, prove why any group passed or failed.
- Spanish questions and explanations that are reviewed for meaning and consistent insurance terminology.
- Florida statutes and rules taught in context, not added as a short translated glossary.
- Timed practice calibrated to 150 scored questions and the official 165-minute limit, while preparing for 15 additional unscored items on exam day.
- Error review that distinguishes conceptual gaps, state-law gaps, terminology issues and avoidable reading mistakes.
- The same topic depth and readiness standard in both languages.
The cost and limit of another attempt
Each new attempt requires another $44 examination fee and another available appointment. Three paid attempts total $132 in exam fees; five total $220. Delays may also postpone licensing and potential earnings, but the amount varies by candidate and should not be presented as guaranteed lost income.
Florida permits no more than five attempts of the same examination type in a rolling 12-month period. Use practice results and diagnostic feedback to improve before spending another attempt.
