| Life and/or Accident & Health filing fee | $188 | One fee when both types are selected; non-refundable |

| Fixed subtotal | $317 | Before course tuition and optional preparation |
Costs that cannot honestly be reduced to one statewide number
- Tuition for the approved 12-hour Ethics and California Insurance Code course.
- Optional exam-preparation materials or app access.
- Travel, document or rescheduling costs.
- Additional examination fees after an unsuccessful attempt.
- Any special background, application or appointment expense that applies to the individual case.
A failed examination changes both cost and timing
Each new attempt adds another $55 examination fee. California also bars a candidate from the same examination for 12 months after ten failures within the preceding 12-month period.
That makes readiness a financial decision. Schedule when repeated timed simulations show a stable margin above 60%, not simply when a calendar plan ends.
What CertiAcademy adds — and what it does not replace
CertiAcademy is exam preparation, not California's required 12-hour approved course. Its value is a large bilingual learning system: more than 1,300 questions, 500 California-specific items, explanations, spaced wrong-answer review and realistic mock exams.
The package price is displayed separately before checkout, with no automatic renewal. Keeping statutory fees and preparation fees separate prevents a misleading all-in claim.
